Sweets and Fish

Me being silly.

One would think we have a bipolar weather. We have snow, sun and rain.  But it doesn’t mean my love for ICE CREAM would melt with it, I have become too addicted forgetting that I was suppose to go on a diet. Suppose we were going to that Orange Leaf yogurt place for ice cream, we would’ve spent more money per cup. It’s likely $3 per cup, so hubby decided to make a semi-homemade one to get thrifty. He bought $2 frozen yogurt that’s good for a week and mangoes from the Asian store. And wallah!

If you don’t want to trouble yourself scooping your own ice cream? Then get an ice cream cone from McDonald’s! Duh?!

I guess getting these sweets are making up for the NO MEAT this lent sacrifice that we are having. No steaks, fried chicken, pork chops (I’m salivating) for 40days. Just fish and other seafood, we’ll probably grow tails and scales! But going to certain stores that offer good seafood menu gets us going. Like this Salmon Teriyaki from Green Tea Japanese Cuisine:

And the good old fried catfish from Rock House Café:

Sometimes I think this blog is about food no? Eheh.

Last Snow (Sana!)

I thought that it was OFFICIALLY SPRING until last night. But the weather didn't stopped hubby, he took me out for dinner at Olive Garden. He was being so sweet and attentive.
Silly.

Here's our appetizer that reminded me of Pizza Hut's Calamares:
Calamari

And for the entree, we split up the pasta. It was too much I didn't even finished mine.
Seafood Alfredo

My photo of the day: Me and Porter hanging out. CUTE!

Week Post!

Hubby and I were in Kansas City for a marriage retreat last March 4-6. It was to strengthen the relationship and at the same time, enjoy the weekend vacation that the army offered for free (food & hotel). We got there at night, had dinner and started the topics from the book, “Five Love Languages.” Oh and the dinner! Sumptuous!
Caesar's Salad, Chicken Penne and Tiramisu

At last! Hubby got to eat western food for dinner. I was cooking the rest of the week and they were all Filipino foods. I’m not sure if he liked it but he finished the food quickly!
Ginisang Sitaw
Rosemary Chicken and Potatoes
Escabecheng Bangus

We went to mass, and strolled outside Kansas City. The weather was cool so I opted to wear something like spring! ^^
I'm not preggy. Damit lang yan! ^^
It was great outside and the vacation was nice but I missed someone so bad and I wanted to see her quickly!

Porter and Blues
Fast forward and it's the start of Lent. I sacrificed Facebook for my 40days fasting and MEAT. It's really bad because I'm a poultry girl. I like chicken the best. And doing fish for 40 days is a BIG sacrifice already (Sorry Lord God). Here's a picture of a community meal after Friday Lent Station's of the Cross:

ALL FISH ;c
March 12 and it's St. Patrick's Day! All green. I didn't wear one but all the people here in Manhattan did. People are suppose to go to mass and celebrate it at home but alas! It's like fiesta here. People are out partying and getting wasted. Police cars are on alert. It was funny at first with all the crowd and how happy they looked. But if it gets too long [the party], it irritating. Too much noise, drunks on streets, and accidents.
Morning of St. Patricks day. College girls wearing green.
It was OK for me and hubby. We were just glad that spring is finally here, and like St. Patrick's crowd, the surrounding is blooming.
TULIPS!

German chocolates from Ate Chirsty

The Baby Sitter

If Ate Christy got me hooked on German chocolates, hubby got me hooked on Japanese food:
Stuffed Tuna Jalapeno

Shrimp Yaki Udon

Snap!

We enjoyed our week. Hope everybody did! <3

Baby Love

"Sunny Kiss" by Noah and Ely

Doesn't this remind you of your first love?

I never had any first love though. I don’t know. Maybe when I was young my mom or people forced me to kiss other kids my age but I don’t remember. I don’t easily get attracted and I am SURE you won’t feel any sense of attraction when you meet me anyway. AHAH! I just actually missed my husband that I wanted to get a kiss from him. <3

The Sun, the Book and the Ice Cream

It’s warm here and Mr. Sunshine is out. But you still would want to wear warm clothes as snow and ice around the pavement is yet to melt.

So how do you enjoy this day? Not shopping for me. I have to run around with kids later. Read a book? Probably. I have to finish this book “The Five Love Languages” in preparation for our marriage retreat this Fri-Sun at Kansas City.

How about I abuse the rarity of the sun and eat ice cream? My boss bought Magnolia Mango Ice cream from the Asian store last week so chances are: It’s MINE. MINE. MINE.

Do they look like yolks?

By the way, here is what I’m wearing today and it's really comfy. <3
